Learning Disabilities Over Dramatized

Learning disabilities are over dramatized. When a child demonstrates a lack of comprehending a particular subject, teachers will often consider disability. Instead of considering that the child is going through some changes, the teacher may neglect to resort to different tactics to help the child learn.

Some children have memory problems, meaning they will forget in a short time what they learned. Other children might have an inability to comprehend what they are reading. When a child reads a book and stumbles on words that he or she may have not heard often, it can set them back in understanding and learning.

Some children have difficulty speaking out in classrooms and this too can present an inability to learn. I place great emphasis on inability, since most learning problems are because the child is lacking in a certain area.

To help a child learn effectively we must consider his or her linguistic skills. Regardless of what the child deals with, if he or she is lacking in linguistic skills, the child will have difficulty in certain areas of learning.

Linguistic is the ability to relate to languages and dialects. Since, we are in a world composed of different dialects and languages it can be confusing for anyone to learn according to a set standard.

Therefore, we can see that learning disabilities are over dramatized, simply because if we want to evaluate or call learning inabilities disabilities, then we are all classified as disabled.

I noticed in special education classes that the teachers would often treat each child as babies so to speak. In other words, instead of instructing the child at his or her level, the teacher will often treat the child as though he cannot relate. This poses a set back for the children, since they are not learning, they are developing behaviors that sets them apart from others.

Many of the children in special education classes are there, simply because the teachers in ordinary schools were frustrated. Sadly, special education schools will enlist children of all age groups, and force them to learn on a set level.

The special education programs will also enlist children, joining them with the mentally retard children. Of course, the child will learn to adapt in an atmosphere where all handicaps join, but in the end, the child will fail to relate to society in general.

The inconsistency poses another problem, since the teachers will often treat each child on the level of retardation. We can see that changes need to be made, and truth needs to be told to stop this learning disability from growing.

Unfortunately, some special educations will punish children that act out on their mental symptoms. I’ve complained recently to the state regarding a special education program that locked the children in an unpadded room. The room was a small isolated area. If you lock a child with psychosis or schizophrenia, or even a child that has phobias in a closed room, you are putting that child at risk.

This left a statement, and to bring out the point we can see that these so-called learning disabilities are in danger of learning harmful tactics.

Of course, we can never put a child with mental illnesses in the same classroom as the so-called normal. Since most of the common children are ignorant and will torture other children, by calling them names. We can see this too can hinder a child from learning. So, where do we go from here?

Some researchers are suggesting that home schooling might be the best solution for helping children with learning inabilities. Unfortunately, many parents do not want to take time out to handle a child with a mental disorder. This presents another problem, since a child knows when he or she is wanted.

After dealing with several children with mental disorders, I can tell you it is not an easy task. However, the results prove rewarding since you are taking time out of your busy schedule to help a child learn.

Down through the years, I’ve always disputed the code of ethnics of public schooling. To date, I continue to battle the tactics utilized in public schools to teach children, helping them learn.
